Backlit applications are most challenging for a manufacturer of inkjet films: compared to opaque media the coating has to be even more consistent, as the smallest tolerances become visible when lit from the back. The required colour gamut is defined by the high standards of photographic reversal film. The colour density of dark areas has to be as high as possible. In addition, the substrate has to be dimensionally stable under conditions of humidity and / or heat. All of the backlit films made by Regulus have been extensively tested by professionals demanding the ultimate result. Their imaging capabilities are unequalled. Due to the front-print approach all films are day and night compatible, which means that even with the backlight switched off the colours are still stand out. All films feature a diffusion layer to avoid the visibility of the source of light.
